New landscape diary view now available

There's more than one way of looking at things - and sometimes a different perspective or a new angle can reveal better ways of tackling a problem. That's why we've taken the current web diary and turned it on its head - or more accurately - on it's side! With the optional new landscape diary, engineers are now arranged in rows with time running from left to right.

This new landscape orientation offers a more compact layout, allowing a greater number of engineers to fit on the diary at once. Don't worry, the standard view is still default and both orientations provide the exact same information. It's up to your business which you use - why not give them both a try and see what the team prefers?

Diary goes landscape

The new landscape orientation, which organises engineers in rows, is available for both the Daily and the Weekly view. Both work in the same way as before, simply in a different direction. That includes recent features like shift patterns and lockable events too.

One business, one diary

The choice between the traditional diary and the new landscape diary is up to your business as a whole. All Commusoft web users across your account will have the same diary view, depending on what you choose in system settings. So remember, when you change the orientation that it will change for all your web users!

How to change the diary

It's very simple to switch the diary orientation. From System Settings go to Diary Settings and choose whether you want engineers to appear in columns (standard view) or for engineers to appear in rows (landscape view).

Once you click save, the diary will update! Remember, this will update for all your account's web users.

Clear your browser's cache

As part of this update, we are aware of possible caching issues that may or may not cause visual errors in your diary. These are easily fixed by clearing your web browser's cache, which takes just a few moments. Regardless of whether you choose to use this new view, we recommend you clear your cache following the update.

A quick and easy way to clear your cache in Google Chrome is:

  1. Right click anywhere on the screen and choose 'Inspect'
  2. Right click on the refresh icon and choose 'Empty cache and hard reload'
  3. That's all done - you can then close the pop out window on the right
