Beautifully visualised data with four new reporting widgets

Even if you know all the details of the day-to-day running of your business, it can be incredibly difficult to get a clear picture of the trends that appear over time. Commusoft’s reporting tool puts you in control. Data is visualised clearly, and you can see in an instant where things are going right or wrong.

We’re always looking at ways of making reporting even more powerful. The more data you have, the easier it is to look for gaps and make the changes that will take your business to new levels of success. We’ve recently introduced four brand new widgets that can help you do just that.

 

Sales by month

Sales by month will refer specifically to any invoices and credit notes. Even if a job was assigned and completed in the previous month, if you’re invoicing in this month it will count towards this sales count. This widget is great for identifying the peaks and furrows in your sales so that you know when to anticipate busy periods that may need more office staff or make a push on advertising for example.

Sales per invoice category per month

Setting up invoice categories ahead of time is essential if you’re going to get the most out of this widget. You can create your categories in any way you want. One way would be to break them down by job type, for example; installations, repairs, servicing. As you can see, the example we’ve added below has “Maintenance” and “Services” categories.

Having this graph in front of you means you can identify in an instant where the majority of your work is coming from in a given month.

First time fix rate

Your first time fix rate refers to the number of jobs your engineers are able to complete on their first visit to the site. A first visit only counts when you’ve actually gained access to the property. If the property owner isn’t home, it won’t count as multiple visits when you return.

There’s a variety of reasons that a job may require multiple visits — perhaps you don’t have exactly the right tool or parts need to be ordered — but there’s no denying that customers love to have all their issues fixed in one session. If your first time fix rate is particularly low, it’s a clear sign that some changes need to be made and your engineers need to be better prepared for jobs.

Estimates rejection by reason

This nifty widget will give you insight into the changes you might need to make to increase your percentage of accepted estimates. For example, if you’ve found the majority of your rejected estimates are due to customers feeling that they’re too expensive, you know that you need to take a look at your service and messaging, so that you can better communicate the value of your work. It doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to reduce your prices. After all, you don’t need to be the cheapest in the area if you know you’re the best!

You can edit and add new reasons from the system settings page, so this data set can be as detailed as you want it to be.

These four new widgets brings the total in Commusoft to ten. As with the others, these four widgets all draw their data from the last six months. To add them to your reporting dashboard, simply navigate to the reporting tab, click the “Quick links” menu in the top right-hand corner and choose “Add / remove dashboard widgets.”
